Ancodus brachyrhynchus (= Elomeryx armatus or Hyopotamus armatus) (Marsh 1894, Middle Eocene, Oligocene 1.5m length, Northern Hemisphere) is an early artiodactyl ungulate with small tusks. The five-toed manus and four-toed pes help determine which toes disappear in later ungulate taxa. |
