Guanlong (Xu et al. 2006, IVPP V 14531) Early Cretaceous ~125 mya, was originally considered a basal tyrannosauroid, but here nests as a basal allosaur, derived from a sister to Coelophysis, which it greatly resembles. Two specimens are known. One is much smaller.
Notable traits include the tiny head with medial crest and the very large feet. The juvenile had a smaller crest restricted to the anterior.
